About Aggie Transition Camps

What is Aggie Transition Camps?

Aggie Transition Camps (ATC) is the umbrella organization that coordinates and runs Howdy Camp in the early Spring and Transition Camp (T-Camp) in the Fall. ATC is for all new students at Texas A&M who wish to experience an extended orientation program. At camp, we seek to create a fun and open atmosphere, in which new students will be welcomed into the Aggie Family. You will be introduced to the many opportunities that exist at Texas A&M such as the long-standing traditions we hold dear and the true meaning of being an Aggie. It is ATC’s main goal that campers leave with a newly ignited Aggie Spirit, and many lasting friendships.

What is Howdy Camp?

Howdy Camp welcomes transfer students to Texas A&M before the spring semester every year with the purpose of giving them an opportunity to have fun, build friendships, and learn more about life at Texas A&M. We want to make sure that your transition into the Aggie Family is one filled with memories and purpose. Howdy Camp is a 3-day extended orientation program that takes place at Lakeview Methodist Conference Center near Palestine, Texas. Students will ride buses from the Texas A&M campus to Lakeview, where we will be bunking in comfortably furnished cabins!

Howdy Camp is led by Texas A&M students who are dedicated and passionate about making the transition process successful for each new Aggie. Each counselor, crew member, and staff member has personal experience with transferring to and being new on campus. This way, they can offer crucial advice about classes, fun things to do in College Station and any other questions that a new student might have about being an Aggie.

What is Transition Camp (T-Camp)?

Transition Camp (T-Camp) welcomes transfer students to Texas A&M before the fall semester every year with the purpose of giving them an opportunity to have fun, start their own Aggie network, and learn more about the life at Texas A&M. We want to make sure that your transition into the Aggie Family is one filled with memories of joy.

T-Camp Session One is a 3-day extended orientation program that will take place this year at Lakeview Methodist Conference Center near Palestine, TX. Students will ride buses from Texas A&M campus to Lakeview, where we will be bunking in comfortably furnished cabins.

T-Camp Session Two is a 2-day extended orientation program that will take place on campus at Texas A&M University (College Station Main Campus). Students will join us on campus during the day and check out to go to their own housing at night. They will return the next morning to check back in and have fun!

T-Camp is led by Texas A&M students who are dedicated and passionate about making the transition process successful for each person. Again, each counselor, crew member, and staff member has personal experience with transitioning to and being new to campus. This way they can offer crucial advice about classes, fun things to do in College Station, and field any other questions that you might have about being an Aggie.
