Namesakes – Aggie Transition Camps

In order for someone to be eligible for Namesake with Aggie Transition Camps, please review the following eligibility requirements:

  1. Nominees must have had a positive impact on Texas A&M University, Aggie Transition Camps, and/or the transfer student community. (Examples may include, but are not limited to, service to the institution, faculty or staff work with students, volunteering to better service the members of the Texas A&M/ATC/Transfer Student community, etc.)
  2. Nominees must have been a Former Student for a minimum of 3 years, and must NOT have been a Namesake within the past 10 years (2017). A full list can be found on the ATC website.
  3. Nominees must be an individual or couple.
  4. Nominees must pass a Criminal Background Check conducted by Texas A&M University Human Resources immediately following the selections process. If you want more information on Background Checks, please review Texas A&M’s Standard Administrative Procedure here (https://rules-saps.tamu.edu/PDFs/33.99.14.M1.01.pdf).
  5. If the Nominee is deceased, you will be required to specify who the physical embodiment of the Nominee is and answer the questions for both the deceased Nominee and the person(s) representing the deceased nominee. You may only nominate an individual or couple to represent a posthumous Nominee.

Multiple nominations may be submitted by unique individuals (aka the same person may not submit more than 1 nomination for the same individual). If multiple nominations are submitted for an individual or couple, only the first five (5) nominations will be considered and reviewed. Multiple submissions nominating the same person or couple will be read collectively and given one (1) overall score.

Namesake Nomination for Howdy Camp 2027 will be accepted after the Fall 2026 semester begins. Please direct any questions to Extended Orientation Professional Staff.

ATC Namesake Archives

From 1987-2013, Howdy Camp and T-Camp were two separate organizations. In 2013, both organizations were joined under the yearlong organization, Aggie Transition Camps.  These archives include past Namesakes that have been honored throughout the history of T-Camp and ATC.
